“You can’t even Earthbend, Twinkletoes,” she sneered, folding her arms, her sightless eyes staring through him. “Can’t defeat the Firelord without being able to everything-bend.”
“But I-” he was cut off as the earth opened under his feet, rising to swallow him down. He tried to Airbend away from its grasp, but found himself powerless to escape.
He watched helplessly as Sokka walked up to Toph, curled his arm around her waist as she leaned into his embrace, and leaned down, his face close to hers…
THUD
Aang woke on the floor. In the dark room, the only light was from the moon, filtering in through the window. Toph’s leg was still waving around- her kick had woken him from his nightmare, at least.
He rose, walked around the bed to avoid Toph’s fidgeting feet, and curled himself against her back, hands wrapping round her, rubbing her rounded belly. Gradually, she stopped her movement, and gradually he fell asleep again.
